Otter Class and Frog Class (Year 5)
Welcome to Year 5
On this page you will find information about what the Frog Class and the Otter Class are getting up to and see some of their amazing learning.
For art week, we have been reading, watching and examining the Epic Tale of Beowulf.
We explored different representations of the monster Grendel and then discussed the key question...
What makes a monster a monster?
What do you think?
Are these all monsters?
We have been imagining, drawing, designing and creating our own monsters too, for a Beowulf-inspired story...
MONSTER-SLAYER!
We hope you can join us in the hall after school on Friday 19th September to see some of our wonderful work, amazing art and Beowulf inspired brilliance.
See you there!
In History, we have been learning about how Hengist and Horsa drove a hard bargain after helping King Vortigern defend his kingdom against the Picts and Scots. King Vortigern wanted to reward them by giving them Thanet, but they ended up with the whole of South East England!
As part of our work on our Class Book this term, 'Winter of the Wolves', Year 5 have written prayers from the perspective of Oslaf.
Well done one and all!
Welcome back Year 5!
All of the adults in the year 5 team have been incredibly impressed with how well you have returned to school.
We have seen some marvellous maths, excellent English, super spelling, amazing Anglo-Saxon history and brilliant behaviour for learning.
