Year 2 - Owls
Welcome to Owl Class Page! Here you will find out about all the exciting learning, activities, and experiences taking place in our classroom. We can't wait to share our learning journey with you.

After much deliberation on what makes the perfect leaf Year 2 were tasked to paint them matching their autumnal colours. Take a look at some of the amazing colours that were made by combining and mixing differnet colours.

Year 2 have been hard at work writing diaries and recounts about their own day and about Samuel Peyps in the Great Fire of London 1666. They have been amazing at acting and thinking of teh sentences before building the sentences and finally writing them down.

This week, Owl continued to learn how to dodge effectively in PE, helping them to get away from an attacker. The children practised moving quickly, changing direction and responding carefully to different situations. They worked hard to develop their skills and showed increasing confidence during the activities. In Maths, the children have been comparing numbers and using the language “more than” and “less than”. They had great fun making their own crocodile to use as a symbol when comparing two-digit numbers.

Owl Class continued their Great Fire of London topic by going to the fire pit to use their senses to describe and explore a small fire. It shocked many how hot the fire could get and how much the wind impacted both the flames and the smoke. Year 2 then discussed how horrible it must have been on tjhe streets of Pudding Lane. To finish everyone enjoyed toasting marshemellows and singing songs.
