Online Safety
Keeping children safe online is a priority for us at White Cliffs Primary and Nursery School.
We have robust security systems in place across the school, monitored both internally and externally, to help protect pupils from inappropriate or harmful content. Any online safety concerns are reported immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Online Safety and are fully investigated. Where necessary, incidents are referred to external agencies such as CEOP, the Police, Social Services or Prevent.
Online Safety is taught explicitly to all pupils, helping them understand how to stay safe, make responsible choices, and behave appropriately in online environments.
We know that our efforts in school can only be fully effective when supported at home. We encourage parents and carers to talk openly with their children about safe internet use and responsible online behaviour. Completely banning technology is rarely effective and may discourage children from reporting concerns—education and open communication are essential.
Wake Up Wednesday
Each week we share a Wake Up Wednesday factsheet from the National College, offering practical advice and up to date information for parents. A full catalogue of these guides can be found on the toolbar to the right.

Further Online Safety Resources

CEOP (The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) delivers a multi-agency service dedicated to tackling the abuse and exploitation of children in the real and ‘e’ world. Often it is referred to as an online 999. By clicking on the button, young people and parents can get advice on a range of issues such as viruses, hacking and dealing with bullying online.

The “Thinkuknow” website is brought to you by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) centre.
