Our Year 6 children have been exploring the fascinating components of blood through a fun and memorable hands-on activity. By creating a “blood smoothie” using apple juice, raspberries, marshmallows and sprinkles, children learned how blood is made up of plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Each ingredient represented a different component, helping the children visualise how blood works inside the body.

This creative science lesson combined learning with excitement and gave us a great understanding of an important part of human biology!
