11/11/2025Remembrance Day Assembly 2025
Today, our school came together to mark Remembrance Day with a moving assembly led by our Year 6 pupils. We paused to reflect and honour those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Why do we remember?
Remembrance Day is observed on the 11th of November each year to commemorate the end of World War I in 1918 and to honour all those who have served and sacrificed in wars and conflicts since. The red poppy has become a symbol of remembrance, inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields, reminding us of the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for peace.
The assembly included three special songs that we had learnt for this occasion.
Each class took turns to lay a wreath at our school cenotaph, showing gratitude and remembrance in a meaningful way.
